A WOMAN who was being questioned about the murder of a pensioner at an apartment in Limerick city last month has been released without charge.
The woman, whose aged in her 40s, was arrested in the midlands yesterday evening by gardai investigating the death of Paddy Redmond.
Mr Redmond (65) died after he was stabbed in the back during a row at the Mount Kenneth Apartments in the early hours of November 10, last.
The separated father of three grown-up daughters was originally from Dublin but had been living in Limerick for a number of years. He was found with stab wounds on the floor of an apartment near where he lived.
He died from his injuries at University Hospital, Limerick a number of hours later.
Following the release of the suspect this afternoon, a garda spokesman said a file will be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.
