PHOTOGRAPHERS from Limerick and its surrounds were put in the frame at their society's annual awards ceremony.
To mark the end of another successful year, the Limerick Camera Club’s members held their yearly celebration in The Strand Hotel in the city centre.
And the efforts its members went to, to snap some of Limerick's most stunning scenery was recognised, with five first prize awards given out, plus recognition for those who came second and third.
The club's public relations officer Ivan O'Riordan reported: “It's been a spectacular year for the ladies with Michelle Dempsey achieving the photographer of the year title. Aidan Ryan was runner-up with Siobhan Gleeson and Nancy Geary following in third and fourth places.”
Another lady, Sarah Warde, was the recipient of the Limerick Cup, awarded to the person who takes the best image of Limerick and its surrounds.
Limerick Camera Club is currently on its summer recess and will start meeting again in September at their new venue in Mary Immaculate College.
It's a very special year for the club, which is now in its 80th year.
To this end, a book of members’ photographs is to be released to mark the anniversary.
