Commemorative walk in Limerick to mark death of true Irish patriot

The Staker Wallace memorial in Kilfinane

A COMMEMORATIVE walk to mark the death of Irish patriot Patrick Staker Wallace is to take place in Kilfinane, Limerick this coming July.

This year marks the 225th anniversary since the United Irishman’s execution in the town of Kilfinane.

Guided walk will take place from The Market House in Kilfinane where Staker Wallace was hanged to the townland of Killeen under the peak of Slievereagh where Staker Wallace was captured.

The walk has been organised in conjunction with Ballyhoura Bears Walking Club (hi-vis, proper walking shoes and head torch necessary).

The walk will take place on Thursday, July 6 at 7.30pm.
