THE LIMERICK Central Rotary Club are gearing up to host the Don Reddan Annual Charity Golf Classic in aid of Down Syndrome Limerick.
The event will take place on Friday, May 5 in Newcastle West Golf Club.
Newcastle West Golf Club in Ardagh, Co. Limerick, will host the golf classic and this course will present a real challenge for all golfers. In addition to the golf, all players will enjoy a meal and refreshments with prizes for the winners on the day.
This year the club’s nominated charity is Down Syndrome Limerick, based in Castletroy, which provides essential services and programmes for members and families of all age groups.
John Kelly, President of Limerick Central Rotary Club, commented: "We are delighted to launch this inaugural event to honour Don and, in the spirit of Rotary, to raise vital funds to support charities in Limerick.
"Don was a founding member of our club and throughout his professional and personal life gave his unqualified support to many charitable organisations until his passing in April 2022."
Ellen Tuffy, Chairperson of Down Syndrome Limerick (DSL), said: "We are delighted to be chosen as beneficiary for this year’s Don Reddan Annual Charity Golf Classic.
"DSL receives no government funding and is reliant on fundraisers like this to keep our services going so that we can continue to help people with Down syndrome achieve their full potential.
"A huge thank you to the Limerick Central Rotary Club for their support and in particular to Ger Lynch for all his work in organising the event. We look forward to seeing everyone on 5th May at Newcastle West Golf Club."
People wishing to make a donation to support this event can do so via PayPal on the Limerick Central Rotary Club website - https://www.rotary-ribi.org/clubs/homepage.php?ClubID=2325.
