GARDAI in County Limerick are investigating a road crash which saw a 29 year old man killed overnight.

The single vehicle crash happened at 3.55am this Saturday morning on the Croom to Granagh road at Kilmore, just a mile outside Granagh.

The driver of the car, a 29 year old man who was the sole occupant, was seriously injured in the crash and was taken to the Mid Western Regional Hospital in Dooradoyle where he was later pronounced dead.

The road was closed to facilitate a forensic examination and diversions were in place as of this Saturday morning.

Gardai are appealing for witnesses or anyone who may have been on the road between 3.30am and 4am to contact Askeaton Garda Station on 061-601630, or the Garda Confidential line on 1800 666111.
