County Limerick man on drugs charges fails to appear in court

A BENCH Warrant has been issued for the arrest of a County Limerick man who is accused of drugs offences.

A BENCH Warrant has been issued for the arrest of a County Limerick man who is accused of drugs offences.

Michael Walsh, 37, of Beaufort House, Coolanoran, Newcastle West is accused of having quantities of heroin for the purpose of sale or supply at Parnell Street in Limerick city on August 27, last and again on August 30 last.

He is also accused of possession of a quantity of cocaine for the purpose of sale or supply at an apartment at Cecil Street in the city centre on December 7, 2011.

Walsh was charged at Henry Street garda station on April 20, last but when his case was called at Limerick District Court this week he was not present.

Judge Eamon O’Brien granted an application, made by Sgt Donal Cronin, for a bench warrant.
