Investigation underway following Limerick road crash

THE Garda Ombudsman Commission is investigating the circumstances of serious road crash in Limerick city in which a young man was critically injured.

THE Garda Ombudsman Commission is investigating the circumstances of serious road crash in Limerick city in which a young man was critically injured.

The crash, which involved a stolen car, happened shortly after midnight near Punches Cross.

A number of cars were in collision and it is understood one of them was being pursued by a marked garda patrol car at the time.

The 17-year-old male driver of one of the cars received serious injuries, while two women who were also in the car suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The occupants of the other car were not seriously injured.
