THE postponed Christmas Racing festival will finally get underway at Limerick Racecourse this afternoon.

Racing could not take place at Greenmount yesterday or on St Stephen's Day because of the bad weather.

Much of the track was given the all clear following an inspection yesterday and an early-morning inspection today saw officials confirm that racing will go ahead this afternoon.

The first race will run at 12.30pm with the feature race the Grade 3 Doran's Pride Novice Hurdle off at 1.35pm.

The festival will continue tommorrow and on Thursday.
