Limerick drugs case sent for trial

THE case of two men charged in connection with a major drugs seizure on the outskirts of the city has been sent forward for trial.

Kieran Nevin, aged 36, of Lower Annagh, Lisnagry and Shane Ferguson, aged 45, of Ahane, Lisnagry, are each charged with possession of cannabis for the purpose of sale or supply.

It is alleged that around 80kg of cannabis herb, worth in excess of €1.5m, was seized at a cottage at Annagh, Lisnagry on May 25, last.

Both men were served with books of evidence at Limerick Court by Garda Paul Crowley, who informed the court that their previous addresses were to be amended.

Both men were remanded on bail pending their appearance before Limerick Circuit Court in February.
