Men questioned following Limerick gun seizure

TWO men are still being quetioned by gardai in connection with the seizure of a handgun in Limerick city.

TWO men are still being quetioned by gardai in connection with the seizure of a handgun in Limerick city.

Gardai attached to the armed Regional Response Unit based at Henry St Garda recovered the weapon when they stopped a seacrhed a car in the Ballinacurra Weston area of the city,

Two men, who are aged 44 and 45, were arrested at the scene and they are being detained under the provisions of Section 30 of the Offences Against the State Act at Henry St and Roxboro Rd Garda stations.

A spokesperson for the Garda Press Office has confirmed that the men’s period of detention was extended this afternoon.
