GARDAI have launched an investigation after a man was found with stab wounds on a public street in Kilmallock this morning.

GARDAI have launched an investigation after a man was found with stab wounds on a public street in Kilmallock this morning.

The man, who is aged in his 20s and from Limerick city, was discovered with serious injuries by a passerby at Sarsfield Street at around 8am.

He has been taken to University Hospital, Limerick for treatment. However, his injuries are not believed to be life threatening,

The scene where the injured man was found has been sealed off and gardai have begun house-to-house enquiries in the area.

It is understood gardai have not yet established where the man was attacked.
