MORE than 2,000 people have taken part in the Limerick Women’s Mini Marathon.

Thousands of euros have been raised for charities across Limerick following the 10k run, which took place at the University of Limerick this Saturday.

A handful of men joined the majority of women in excellent conditions for the 15th annual Mini Marathon.

Ballyclough woman Orla Drumm was the first across the line recording a time of just over 28 minutes.

She was joined five minutes later by Kilcornan woman Nicola Dore, the fastest wheelchair competitor.
