Thevies target electronics in city burglaries

INFORMATION is being sought by gardai following two recent burglaries in the Castletroy area of the city.

INFORMATION is being sought by gardai following two recent burglaries in the Castletroy area of the city.

During the first incident at Harvard Close, College Court, the culprit entered an unoccupied house through a front window and took a number of electrical items from the house.

The second incident took place at nearby College Court Park - also in Castletroy.

During that incident, the culprit entered the premises via a rear door and took a laptop, an x-box games console and numerous x-box games.

Gardai at Henry Street station at investigating both incidents and have carried out inquiries in the locality.

They are also appealing for anyone with information about what happened to contact them.

“We are seeking assistance from anyone who may have seen saw anything suspicious in the area around 2 or 3am on Wednesday, May 8, or who has been contacted by persons trying to sell electrical items to contact us with any relevant information,” said Sergeant Kevin Balfe of the Community Policing section at Henry Street garda station.
