HEARTFELT tributes have been paid to the late Limerick artist, Angela Woulfe.

Angela, late of Ennis Road and the Angela Woulfe Gallery, Pery Square, passed away peacefully at the Milford Care Centre.

Opened in 1985, the Angela Woulfe Gallery exhibits the oil paintings of the internationally renowned artist who specialised in Irish landscapes and town scenes, as well as the works of guest artists.

Having been exhibited at the Royal Hibernian Academy and the European Parliament, Angela’s paintings delicately captured light and atmosphere - and have been purchased by private collectors worldwide.

“Thinking of those great days in Zonta meeting lovely ladies. I was introduced to Angela at a charity event / Art Exhibition at O Driscolls pub, Corbally by Audrey Lalor she being the sales lady of the evening. I still have Angela’s picture in pride and place. We think of her family at this time and offer you all our deepest sympathy on the loss of a great Mom,” wrote Angela Collins and John O’Mahony in a tribute posted on rip.ie.

“I have wonderful memories of Angela when she had her annual exhibition in Todd's back in the day. She painted a beautiful print of the red path in Corbally for me, and I always treasured it. I will treasure it more now it has pride of place in my home. Rest in peace, Angela. Forever in my thoughts and prayers,” said Eileen Ryan.

Dearly loved mother of Katherine and Daniel, sadly missed by her loving sister Beth, brothers Tim and Brendan, as well as by her extended family and friends.

Angela’s funeral took place on February 2, with a cremation service in Shannon Crematorium.
