A MAN is being questioned by Limerick gardai following a significant drugs seizure on the outskirts of the city last night.
Heroin with an estimated street value of around €200,000 was seized during pre-planned searches of several houses in Meelick and Killaloe.
The operation, which took place at around 10pm, was led by detectives from the Limerick divisional drugs unit who were assisted by local officers
A man in his forties, who was arrested last night, is being detained at Roxboro Road garda station under Section 2 of the Drugs Trafficking Act.
He can be detained without charge for a maximum of seven days.
The drugs have been sent for forensic analysis and the operation is ongoing today.
