Man arrested over Limerick drugs seizure

A MAN is being questioned following the seizure of methylone worth around €9,000 in Limerick city.

A MAN is being questioned following the seizure of methylone worth around €9,000 in Limerick city.

250 gramms of the drugs were seized during a joint operation involving Revenue’s Customs Service and gardai.

A Revenue spokesperson said the drugs were seized following the controlled delivery of a package which originated in China and which had been posted to an address at the Dock Road.

It is understood the package was detected earlier today in airfreight at Shannon airport.

Methylone is a drug which has similar effects as MDMA.

A 32 year old Zimbabwean national was arrested and detained at Mayorstone garda station and investigations are ongoing.
