IT WILL be all things reggae this weekend in Newcastle West for the Reggae Reggae Rooftop Festival.
Hosted by Cleary’s Bar on Goat’s Street, Newcastle West, as part of Cleary’s Window Sessions, the festival will start at 6pm and wrap up at 11pm this Friday, July 24.
The outdoor gig will be weather proofed, as it is fully tented.
It will feature Trevor Sexton and the Emerald Roots, along with Captain Accident and the Disasters band from Cardiff.
Organiser and the man behind the music and events involved in the Cleary’s Window Sessions, Emmet Scanlan said it’s a night not to be missed and offers something really different for music lovers.
“It will be a fantastic night, with the outdoor space now fully marquee-covered, it really gives a festival vibe.
“There will be food on the night in keeping with the reggae vibe of jerk chicken flatbreads,” he said.
Seamus Cleary added: “Following the success of last year’s reggae event, we are delighted to have back, not only the six-piece reggae powerhouse 'Captain Accident & The Disasters' from Cardiff, but also the huge local talent that is 'Treveor Sexton and The Emerald Roots'.”
Trevor said that it’s really special for him to do a home gig.
“Reggae has always been a huge passion of mine, and getting to play a gig like this, with the band, in my hometown, is a great feeling.”
Travelling all the way from Cardiff, Captain Accident said: “We love the Irish vibe, and had such a great time in Clearys, and around the country last year.”
