LIMERICK and surrounding counties across Munster are to experience strong winds for a 24-hour period, Met Eireann has warned this Thursday morning.
Met Eireann has issued a status “Yellow” wind alert for all of Munster and Connacht from Thursday 11am until Friday 11am.
There will be southeasterly winds reaching mean speeds of up to 65kph, with gusts reaching up to 110kph over the next 24 hours.

“Gusts will exceed these values in exposed coastal areas and on higher ground, especially in the southwest,” it said in a weather alert.
In Limerick City specificially, while temperatures will remain mild ranging from eight to 11 degrees, there will be strong winds and spells of rain between 4am and 3pm this Friday.
