THE final full series of preliminary round games in the Pinergy Munster Schools Senior Cup was played this Wednesday afternoon.
Árdscoil Rís rounded off their programme of Group A fixtures with an impressive 34-19 victory over PBC, of Cork, at Thomond RFCs Fitzgerald Park grounds.
The Limerick side trailed their opponents 10-14 at half-time with their first half points coming courtesy of a Luke Murphy try and a conversion and penalty goal from the boot of out-half Aaron Byrnes.
Árdscoil Rís added three more tries in the second half, including a penalty try. Number eight Luke Murphy grabbed his second try of the game after the restart, while winger Harry Cowton also dotted down. Aaron Byrnes kicked a further penalty and two conversions.
Meanwhile, St Munchin's College played a fixture against Glenstal Abbey with victory going to the Corbally side.
St Munchin's had tries from centre Adam Cusack and hooker Sean Rice, while Tom Wood added the remaining points off the kicking tee.
Paddy Frawley scored a try for Glenstal Abbey School.
Meanwhile, Castletroy College also played a fixture with CBC, of Cork, at Castletroy.
The game ended in a win for the Leesiders with the Castletroy points coming courtesy of a try from Jamie Conway in the second half.
