Hurling - Limerick minor team named
The Limerick minor hurling team has been named for Sunday’s All Ireland MHC quarter-final against Galway in Thurles. Manager Leo O’Connor has made two changes to the side beaten by Tipperary in the Munster final. The game gets underway at 12noon.
Soccer - Limerick FC head for Tallaght
Limerick FC travel to Tallaght Stadium on Sunday to take on Shamrock Rovers in the SSE Airtricity League Premier Division. The game has been given the go-ahead after Rovers bowed out of the Europa League on Thursday night
Hurling - No change to league structures
The Central Council of the GAA has rejected proposals to change the structure of the Allianz Hurling Leagues for the 2016 season. A number of counties had submitted proposals but they were turned down in favour of sticking with the current format. Limerick had preferred two seven-team groups in Division 1

Boxing - Saunders’ outrageous views on women’s boxing
Billy Joe Saunders, Andy Lee’s opponent in his world title fight in Thomond Park in September, has made some pretty outrageous comments on women boxers. “Women’s there for cleaning, cooking, washing and sex,” said Saunders. “They’re not to put a head guard on and get punched in the face,”
Rugby - Leinster lose Douglas
Leinster have lost second row Kane Douglas after the Australian second row was bought out of his contract after only one season with the Irish province. Douglas had two years left to run on his deal but is expected to join the Queensland Reds and so challenge for a place in Australia’s squad for the Rugby World Cup
