LIMERICK city and Thomond Park will open welcome back the second year of the Limerick World Club Se7ens Series in August when all four Irish provinces will be represented.

Twelve rugby teams from across the world will once again take part in the two day event which will run from Friday August 21 to Saturday August 22.

Several of the world’s best and brightest sevens teams are set to deliver a weekend of not only of thrilling rugby but a carnival like party.

This year’s Limerick World Club Se7ens sees the inclusion of all four of the Irish provinces unlike 2014 when just host province Munster participated.

Represented at the tournament will be teams from both Northern and Southern hemispheres. Teams will include reigning champions Daveta Fiji who will return to defend their Limerick World Club Se7ens title along with 2014 Twickenham 7’s champions Buenos Aires and one of South Africa’s leading provincial 7’s teams.

“We are thrilled to have the four provincial teams take part in this year’s Limerick World Club Se7ens Tournament and with the growing popularity of sevens in Ireland along with the upcoming addition of rugby sevens in the 2016 Olympics in Rio. It is an honour for the Limerick World Club Se7ens Team to showcase the very best that Ireland has to offer,” explained Maeve Moriarty, General Manager, Limerick World Club Se7ens.
