MUNSTER set up a high stakes Guinness PRO12 semi-final showdown with Ospreys at Thomond Park on Saturday next after recording a 50-27 thumping of Dragons at Musgrave Park this Saturday.
Munster had a bonus point wrapped up after just 24 minutes, with scrum-half Conor Murray bagging two of his three tries. Munster’s Player of the Season CJ Stander and Andrew Smith also touched down for the home side who led 33-10 at half-time before an official attendance of 8,200.
Second row Paul O’Connell also crossed the whitewash in the opening half, while Keith Earls, Ronan O’Mahony and Man of the Match Murray, who completed his hat-trick, ensured Munster bagged eight tries in all.
Munster will be disappointed to have shipped four tries to their Welsh opponents over the 80 minutes.
The result ensured Munster secured a home semi-final against Ospreys on Saturday next in Thomond Park at 2.30pm. The Welsh region beat Munster both home and away in the PRO12 regular season.
Table toppers Glasgow will host Ulster in the opening Guinness PRO12 semi-final at Scotstoun on Friday night.
