Former New Zealand U-20 captain Tyler Bleyendaal will make his first appearance for Munster in Wednesday’s ‘A’ game against Ulster in Naas.
The former Canterbury player has had his Munster debut delayed because of a neck injury but got the all clear last week to return and has been named at out-half alongside Cathal Sheridan, another player who has an injury-disrupted season.
Head coach Mick O’Driscoll has named team mixed with youth and experience but arguably the most interesting inclusion is that of St Mary’s player Conor Oliver in the back row. Oliver has represented Leinster at underage level and was this week named in the Ireland squad for the U-20 World Cup in Italy.
The team will be captained by No 8 Jack O’Donoghue while the bench isees JP Phelan (UCD), Olly Lyons (Exiles) and Robbie Deegan (Shannon) included in a Munster ‘A’ side for the first time.
The game kicks off in Naas at 3pm.
