Two Limerick players were selected as part of The Sunday Game’s hurling team of the year.
Na Piarsaigh’s Shane Dowling and Murroe-Boher’s Seamus Hickey were selected by RTE’s panel of experts onto the team.
Hickey was picked in the full back line alongside Kilkenny duo Paul Murphy and JJ Delaney.
Dowling was given the number 15 jersey with Colin Fennelly (Kilkenny) and Seamus Callinan (Tipperary) also in the full forward line.
The Limerick duo were the only two players not from Tipperary or Kilkenny to be selected on the team.
The overall breakdown saw All-Ireland champions Kilkenny with seven players on the team, while runners-up Tipperary, who Limerick beat in the Munster Championship, had half a dozen players on the team.
