A roundup of the weekend action in the LDMC local soccer leagues.
Moyross 2 Pike Rovers 2
A highly entertaining game in Moyross on Sunday morning saw the home side share the spoils with Pike in their top of the table clash.
Seamus Carroll opened the scoring for the visitors before Barry Quinn’s penalty levelled the game.
Keith Colbert gave Moyross the lead after the Pike defence failed to clear Barry Quinn’s free kick. John Tierney’s 25 yard effort levelled the game for the second time, right on half time.
Regional Utd 0 Janesboro 2
Janesboro secured their sixth win on the bounce to go third in the Premier Division. Barry Sheedy and Adrian Clarke scored either side of half time to give ‘Boro the three points.

Carew Park 12 Weston Villa 0
Weston proved too strong for a gallant Weston Villa side. Jamie Kelly scored five, Jonathon Grant netted twice with Gary Griffin, Jon Somers, Jamie Enright, John Connery and Alex also contributing.
Granville Rgs 1 Southend 0
Declan Considine, winner of the competition as a player (Fairview) and as a manager (Pike) proved he has the Midas touch in the competition netting the winner against another one of his former clubs Southend.
Coonagh Utd 6 Parkville 1
Ciaran Cummins (2), Killian Collins, Shane Bennis, Graeme Minogue and Ian Wallace netted to give the 2A side the win with Mike Worthy getting on the scoresheet for Parkville.
MUNSTER JUNIOR CUP
Shannon Town 1 Knockainey 0
Adrian Carew got the only goal at the Clare venue to set up a meeting with Prospect Priory in round two.
Newport 8 Northside 0
In form Newport hit eight goals at the Tipperary venue with Dean Lenihan and Ross Dunne scoring two each. Peter O’Sullivan, Brian O’Sullivan, Christy Connors and Jamie Collins completed the rout.
Janesboro 8 Aisling Annacotty 0
Thursday night saw the opening game in the Premier League’s Tuohy Cup. Shane Waters (2), Conor Lynch, Jamie Shinnors, Shane Clarke (2), Mike O’Gorman and Barry Sheedy got the goals in this one sided contest.
Kilmallock pipped Wembley Rvs in a top of the table clash as Kilmallock came back from behind to seal the three points. Mungret thrashed Cappamore 5-0 and Caherconlish and Charleville played out a 2-2 draw in east county Limerick.
Liam Quinn (2) and Barry Quinn were the scorers as Murroe defeated Regional Utd B 3-0. Aisling Annacotty’s second XI beat Lisnagry 3-1 while Fairview beat Corbally 3-0 and Holycross thrashed Shannon Hibs 5-1.
Hill Celtic were the big winners in 2A as they got the better of Hyde Rgs 4-0. St Pats beat Mungret Reg 4-2 in the division’s other tie.
Caledonians, Castle Rovers and Summerville all secured wins over Glenview, Abbey Rvs and Moyross B respectively. The other two games, Kennedy Park/Meanus and Prospect Priory/Shannon Town B, ended in draws.
Star Rvs, Ballylanders and Knockainey all added three points to their tallies while Croom Utd went to Murroe and took a point in a 2-2 draw.
Kilfinane Forest, Aisling Annacotty D and Pallasgreen were the big winners in 3B. Castle Utd could only manage a 1-1 draw, when Cappamore visited on Sunday.
Shelbourne, Dromore Celtic, Northside, Croom and Hospital got the three points in their games. St Pats and Moyross shared the spoils in a six goal thriler.
There were four one-sided games in the Munster Cup. Aisling Annacotty, Regional Utd, Fairview Rgs and Summerville Rgs all progressed to the next round.
