The former Crescent College student and current Garryowen player made one appearance for Munster - against Connacht in December 2011 on the night that John Hayes retired. Indeed he also scored a try on that occasion.

However he has struggled a lot with injury this season and opportunities with the first team have been limited.

Munster have also announced that Ian Nagle and Ivan Dinneen have signed new contracts - Nagle has signed for another year while Dinneen has agreed a two-year deal. Scrum-half Cathal Sheridan moves from a Development to a full one year contract while Barry O’Mahony extends his Development Contract for another season.

Academy players Cian Bohane (centre/wing), Duncan Casey (hooker), James Cronin (prop), Ronan O’Mahony (wing) and Niall Scannell (hooker) have all secured developement contracts for season 2013/14.
