THE Munster Schools Senior and Junior Cup competitions will have a new sponsor from next season as part of a new deal the province has agreed with car brand SEAT.

The three year deal, which will see SEAT become the official car partner to Munster Rugby, also sees the car brand supporting Munster Rugby’s pre-season matches in the newly entitled ‘SEAT Series’, which will kick off with the friendly fixture against Gloucester at Thomond Park on Saturday, August 24.

Confirmation that SEAT are to sponsor the province’s two marquee schools competitions is a major boost as the Cups were without a sponsor lastseason following the completion of Avonmore’s deal with Munster.

Commenting on the announcement, Garrett Fitzgerald, CEO Munster Rugby said they were delighted with the new deal: “Munster Rugby is delighted to welcome SEAT as official car partner. Their support across a number of areas including the Munster Senior and Junior Schools Cups is a fantastic boost for us and we look forward to sharing great rugby occasions in the years ahead starting with the ‘SEAT Series’ on August 24.”

Cian O’Brien, Director of SEAT Ireland, added; “We are delighted to be announcing our new partnership with Munster Rugby today.

“As a proud and passionate brand with a great tradition, Munster Rugby is an excellent fit for SEAT and we look forward to promoting our association with them through our dealer network”.
