LIMERICK FC manager Stuart Taylor has set his side the target of finishing above Shamrock Rovers in the Airtricity Premier Division this season.

Taylor has been coy until now about revealing his target for the side this season, but ahead of Friday night’s clash with Drogheda United at Hunky Dorys Park (7.45pm), the Blues boss revealed he was looking to overtake fifth-place Rovers over the final third of the season.

Taylor said: “At this moment in time our target is to catch Shamrock Rovers.

“I have never disclosed any of my targets up to now, but I think it’s fine to do it now because it’s the latter part of the season.

“One thing that will never happen is us seeing out fixtures. I will never have that.

“The Cork game was a great three points. It was a big one for us because we wanted to create that gap between ourselves and Cork. We wanted to be classed as the best team in Munster. We wanted to make sure we were unbeaten against them this season.”
