Tommy O'Donoghue, of St John's, will represent the Republic of Ireland at the upcoming Home Internationals
THREE St John's Snooker Club players, Tommy O'Donoghue, Frank Sarsfield and Colm Daly, will represent the Republic of Ireland in different categories at the Home Internationals next month.
The prestigious event will take place in the Northern Snooker Centre, Leeds, England in early August.
The three St John's men enjoyed successful seasons last season.

Tommy O'Donoghue, enjoyed his most successful season ever, finishing sixth in the Irish Men's Rankings. This enabled him a call up for the first time ever on the Men's Irish Team.
Richly deserved a very consistent season, with three semi-finals out of seven tournaments.
He will compete with Ryan Cronin (Capt) (Cork), Philip Browne, (Dublin), and Mark Tuite (Kilarney).
O'Donoghue has come on leaps and bounds since the Covid years, he has really improved his game into a proper matchplayer.
Frank Sarsfield is the current Over 55's Irish Champion, where he defeated his team-mate Colm Daly 3-2 in the final. A solid player ever since the late 1980s, early 1990s, but the last couple of years he has found a different gear in his play.
It will be interesting to see what he does in Leeds, the world is his oyster in this age category. An over 55 player but plays with a freshness of a youngster.
Colm Daly, a welcome return to the Ennis man, great to see him back, truly is and what's better still he's back with a bang.
An ever consistent player in the top 32 in the men's amateur rankings in the 1990's.
He hails from Dillingers, Ennis but he will give St Johns a great and homely feel as a club as the man is a gentleman but loves his snooker. He will be disappointed last May losing the over 55 Championship final to his compatriot, Frank Sarsfield.
They will be a great double act in the over 55's team, alongside the other two members, Ernie McMullen (Kildare) and Steve Merrigan (Dublin).
