MUNSTER’S latest All-Black signing Francis Saili will make his debut for the province in Friday’s pre-season with Connacht at Thomond Park, 7.45pm.
Centre Saili, who has joined Munster on a two-year deal, made more than 30 Super Rugby appearances for the Blues, scoring five tries
The 24 year-old made his debut for the All Blacks against Argentina in September 2013 at Hamilton, and was part of the New Zealand Under 20 team that won the Junior World Championship in Italy in 2011.
Munster hooker Mike Sherry, who has recovered from knee and shoulder injuries is set to make his first appearance for Munster since November 2013 in Friday’s clash with Connacht.
Meanwhile, Munster and Ireland back-rower Tommy O’Donnell will discover the severity of his injury in the next couple of days when he visits a specialist to review his hip problem.
O’Donnell was ruled out of the upcoming World Cup because of a dislocated hip picked up in the recent warm-up against Wales.
In a further blow to Anthony Foley’s side centre Denis Hurley will miss the start of the season because of an ankle injury picked up in training last week.
Foley and Munster will continue to gradually reintroduce his squad to pre-season action this Friday. The likes of CJ Stander, Ian Keatley, James Cronin, Stephen Archer, Jack O’Donoghue, Duncan Williams and Shane Monahan will also feature.
