The race for the Munster rugby Junior Division 1 league title swung back in favour of Clonmel on Sunday as they won and Newcastle West lost.
Clonmel beat Newcastle West two weeks ago to go top of the table but the Limerick side regained the lead last weekend when they were bonus point winners over Kinsale and Clonmel were beaten by St Senan’s.
But the advantage swung back to Clonmel on Sunday as they were 46-0 winners over St Senan’s and Newcastle West were overwhelmed by Kilfeacle, going down 35-15 at the Tipperary venue.
Kilfeacle ran in seven tries with James Kelly and Tommy Kelleher dotting down in response for Newcastle West.
The results mean that Clonmel are now back on top with 42 points with Newcastle West back on 38. There are now three games remaining with their next game on February 8 at home to Clonakilty.
