It was a busy weekend of action in the Munster Junior Cup over the weekend with only five Limerick sides making into the last 16.
Regional Utd, Mungret Regional and Janesboro from the LDMC all won through as did Abbeyfeale Utd and Ballingarry from the Desmond League.
A Kieran O’Connell penalty helped Regional Utd to a 1-0 win over Ringmahon, while their neighbours Mungret Regional were 3-0 winners away to another Cork side Midleton. Barry Danagher was the hero for Mungret with a hat-trick. Geraldines were beaten 1-0 by Tipperary giants St Michael’s while Newport were beaten 6-1 by Clonmel.
In the all-Limerick game between Abbeyfeale and Moyross, the Desmond League side were convincing 5-0 winners. Ballingarry, the other Desmond League side in action, were 2-1 winners over Vee Rovers.
