ASKEATON trainer Davy Fitzgerald recorded his third success with the eight-year-old He Fitz In which won the three-mile handicap chase at Limerick Racecourse on Sunday.

Danny Mullins made the most of his only ride of the day as he got the Cathal McDaid-owned 4/1 chance home by three-parts of a length from the Ross O'Sullivan-trained Atacanter.

Meanwhile, Ballingarry jockey Billy Lee landed a winner on the opening day of the season at the Curragh on Monday last where he partnered the Paddy Twomey-trained Procrastinate to a battling success in the three-year-old maiden over seven furlongs.

A 2/1 chance, the debutant certainly knew his job and he dug deep to repel the Fozzy Stack-trained 7/4 favourite Marty The Party and Joey Sheridan by three-parts of a length.

The Ted Walsh-trained Ferrybank set Limerick jockey Lee up for a double when landing the seven-furlong handicap at Dundalk on Friday evening. The six-year-old was recording his fourth career win in the colours of the trainer’s wife Helen.

A strong 9/4 favourite, he led at the furlong pole to beat John McConnell’s Bungle Inthedesert by a length and a quarter. In the concluding 12-furlong handicap, Lee scored on the Andy Oliver-trained Squire Danagher. The 3/1 chance got the better of the Edward Lynam-trained Celtic Revival, a 12/1 shot, by a length.

Lee and Paddy Twomey were winners again at Naas on Sunday where Purple Lily took the eight-furlong conditions’ race. Successful on her debut at last year’s Galway festival, she made a winning return to action when easily beating the Aidan O'Brien-trained Portland by three lengths at odds of 10/11 favourite.

The Irish 1,000 Guineas is a possible target for the Zinlo Syndicate-owned winner.
