CHAMPIONS Ardscoil Ris are in Harty Cup action this Tuesday afternoon.

The Limerick city side travel to Nenagh at 1.30 to play Thurles CBS in a vital Group One encounter in the Munster Post Primary Schools senior A hurling championship.

Ardscoil Ris managed by teachers Niall Moran and, Fergal Lyons, Paul Flanagan with former pupil Barry Hennessy (Kilmallock), have only played one game to-date when beating Blackwater 1-20 to 0-9.

Thurles have beaten St Flannans and last time out they drew with West Limerick Colleges.

A win for either side this Tuesday will send them top of the group.

Ardscoil Ris are captained by Ronan Lynch and also have his Na Piarsaigh team-mates Peter Casey and Thomas Grimes in their ranks. All three were Limerick minors in 2014 and another is Patrickswell’s Aaron Gillane. Also involved are Clare minors Paraic O’Loughlin (Clonlara) and Nathan Fox (Parteen).
