Adare booked their place in this year’s Limerick SHC final after coming from behind to record a 2-17 to 2-15 win over Doon in the Gaelic Grounds on Sunday.
Outsiders Doon had led 2-11 to 1-9 at the break after playing with the wind but they could only manage four points in the second half as Doon eat into the lead and then went ahead in the closing minutes.
Declan Hannon and Willie Griffin accounted for 2-12 of Adare’s total between them while Wayne McNamara drove the side impressively from centre-back.
Goals from Michael Ryan and Pat Ryan in the opening half had set Doon up well, along with the impressive contribution of Dean Coleman. But a goal from Griffin in the opening half along with Hannon’s strike in the second kept Adare in the hunt.
Still Doon looked like they might have done enough when Mike Fitzgerald put them ahead with a couple of minutes remaining but two points from Griffin and one from John Fitzgibbon saw Adare over the line.
