Kilmallock GAA to host special night of celebration

KILMALLOCK GAA Club is set to celebrate the 5oth anniversary of their three-in- a-row of county senior hurling titles on Friday, March 15 at Bulgaden Castle at 8pm.

This special event will honour the Kilmallock teams of 1973, 1974 and 1975 who famously won three senior hurling titles in a row. The club also won two minor titles and a juvenile cup during this hugely successful period.

Event organisers are inviting All-Ireland medal holders who played with Limerick, from the Kilmallock area between 1973 to 2018 to attend the event.

During that time, the club has gathered nine members with 24 medals with the first of them, Mossie Dowling, winning his medal in 1973.

Kilmallock have also invited the captains of the Killeedy team, who they beat 2-12 to 2-4 in 1973, as well as the Patrickswell captain from their 1974 and 1975 final wins over them.
To add to the celebration, organisers have invited all the winning captains from their 13 county final wins down through the years.

Bulgaden Castle will be filled with old pictures, newspaper articles, match reports and more from those historic years for the club between 1973 to 1975.

A huge night of celebration lies in store on March 15 with tickets available from members of the Kilmallock GAA Club.
The night will be full of memories and reminiscing with Matt O'Callaghan, the MC for the occasion. The event is open to members of the public as well.
