After a sixth place finish last season, the Shannon-siders will be looking to push on and maybe challenge for one of the four available European spots, despite losing top scorer Rory Gaffney, who joined Cambridge United in the off season.

Their second league game sees their first Munster derby - as Limerick travel to Turner’s Cross on March 13 to face Cork City. The Rebels travel to Market’s Field on May 16 in what is sure to be a much anticipated fixture.

Another big home game takes place on Saturday, April 4, as defending champions Dundalk visit Limerick re-opened home.

Martin Russell’s side finish the 33-game season with a trip to Sligo Rovers on October 30.
