2022 WINNERS Crescent College Comprehensive bowed out of this season's Pinergy Munster Schools Senior Cup after suffering an 18-8 semi-final defeat to CBC, of Cork, at Virgin Media Park on Tuesday afternoon.

The spirited Dooradoyle side were outscored by three tries to one as Christians' set up a Munster Schools Senior Cup final meeting with either St Munchin's College or PBC next month.

The second semi-final takes place at Virgin Media Park, Cork tomorrow, Wednesday at 2pm.

Home side CBC raced into a 10-0 in Tuesday's opening semi-final, thanks to tries from Christopher Barrett and Darragh Prenter.

Crescent reduced the deficit to seven points at half-time, 3-10, after Evan Cusack landed a penalty goal before half-time.

Crucially, CBC struck for the opening score of the second half, increasing their advantage to 12 points, 15-3, when out-half Charlie Patrick O’Shea dotted down.

To their credit, Crescent College fought back bravely and Ryan Scanlon dotted down in the left corner to leave seven points between the sides at 15-8.

However, CBC hit back when an O'Shea penalty pushed the Cork side two scores ahead at 18-8.

There was no shortage of industry and endeavour from Crescent, but they were unable to overhaul their opponents who booked their final place.
