Na Piarsaigh have been crowned Limerick IFC champions following a shock 3-11 to 1-15 win over St Senan’s in Askeaton on Saturday afternoon.

The Foynes club entered the game as hot favourites but were outdone by Na Piarsaigh’s ability to take their goal chances and the city side will now have senior teams in hurling and football in 2015.

St Senan’s got off to a flying start and were 0-6 to 0-1 ahead after 13 minutes. However goals from Eoin Hogan and Kieran Daly got Na Piarsaigh right back into contention. St Senan’s replied immediately though with Ray O’Flaherty finding the net and the sides traded scores before going in level at the break - St Senan’s 1-8 Na Piarsiagh 2-5.

The game ebbed and flowed throughout the third quarter but Senan’s still had their noses in front entering the final ten minutes. But Kevin Daly struck for his second goal to put Na Piarsaigh into the lead and although Senan’s got it back to a point, Evan Egan’s late effort sealed the two-point win for Na Piarsaigh.
