Limerick sides learn Munster Schools Senior and Junior Cup rugby fixtures

THE details of the knockout stages of the Munster Schools Boys Junior Cup and Pinergy Munster Schools Boys Senior Cup have been confirmed.

During the first half of this season, schools from throughout the province played in a round-robin format in two groups in both competitions to determine their seeding for the knockout stages which begin in January.

For the Pinergy Munster Schools Boys Senior Cup, Villiers beat CBS Clonmel in the Senior Cup qualifier this week. They will now take on Glenstal Abbey in Round 1. The winners of this clash will be away to Rockwell College in Round 2.

In the other first round game, Castletroy College host Ardscoil Rís. The winner of this tie will travel to Musgrave Park to take on Bandon Grammar School in Round 2.

The other Round 2 clashes will see holders PBC take on 2022 winners Crescent College Comprehensive in Musgrave Park while CBC will host St Munchin’s College at the same Cork venue.

PBC v Crescent College Comprehensive – w/c 22nd January, Musgrave Park

Rockwell College v Glenstal Abbey or Villiers or High School CBS Clonmel – w/c 22nd January, Musgrave Park

Bandon Grammar School v Castletroy College or Ardscoil Rís – w/c 22nd January, Musgrave Park

CBC v St Munchin’s College – w/c 22nd January, Musgrave Park

Quarter-Finals – w/c 5th February

Semi-Finals – w/c 19th February

Final – w/c 11th March

FOR the Munster Schools Boys Junior Cup, High School CBS Clonmel/Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí won the the Junior Cup qualifier against High Schools CBS Clonmel/Coláiste Pobail Bheanntraí. 

They will now take on Glenstal Abbey in Round 1. The winners of this clash will be away to last season’s beaten finalists Ardscoil Rís in Round 2.

Crescent College Comprehensive will meet Rockwell College in the first round. The winners of that tie will be away to St Munchin’s College in Round 2.

Holders PBC and Castletroy College will face each other in the second round while CBC and Bandon Grammar School will meet in the other second round match.
