There was disappointment for Limerick club St Mary’s-Sean Finns in the Munster IFC on Sunday as they were beaten 3-11 to 0-7 by Clare champions St Joseph’s-Miltown Malbay.

The game was switched at late notice to the Gaelic Grounds but the Rathkeale club got off to a disastrous start. First-half goals from Seanie Malone and Gearoid Curtin helped the visitors to a 2-6 to 0-2 lead at the break and while Sean Finns rallied in the second half, they never threatened a comeback and sub Brian Curtin put the icing on the cake for St Joseph’s late on.

They now play Kerry champions Currow in the semi-final.
