Four Limerick schools in Dr Harty Cup hurling action this Wednesday

FOUR Limerick schools are in Dr Harty Cup, Munster Post-Primary Schools U19 'A' hurling action this Wednesday afternoon.

There is an all-Limerick first round group fixture when John the Baptist CS, Hospital take on Castletroy College in Bruff at 12.30pm.

The Limerick rivals are drawn in Group E of the prestigious competition alongside CBS Secondary School, Carrick-on-Suir.

In the other two first round fixtures featuring Limerick sides this Wednesday, Scoil na Tríonóide Naofa (SNTN), of Doon, take on CBC, of Cork, in Ballygiblin at 1.30pm. SNTN are competing in Group A along with Midleton CBS, Rice College Ennis.

Elsewhere this Wednesday, five-time Dr Harty Cup winners Ardscoil Ris face St Flannan's College in Sixmilebridge at 1.30pm.

Ardscoil, who are a seeded team in the competition as a result of reaching the semi-finals last year, are in Group C along with De la Salle Waterford and Colaiste Choilm Ballincollig.

There are a total of 21 teams competing in the Dr Harty Cup this year, divided into three groups with four teams in each and three groups with three teams in each.

Four of the group winners will qualify for the Quarter-Finals with the two remaining group winners and 6 runners-up contesting the Preliminary Quarter-Finals
