The Bruff hurlers suffered a narrow 1-11 to 0-13 loss to Waterford champions Cappoquin in the Munster Club IHC final in Mallow on Saturday afternoon.

Bruff went into the game as the hot favourites but it was a tight game throughout. Bruff were 0-9 to 0-8 up at the break but a goal from Killian O’Sullivan ten minutes into the second half was the crucial score. Bruff, for whom Shane Bulfin scored six points (four frees), were to rue 12 wides in total, the last of which was a long-range free from Paul Browne which would have forced extra time.
