NA Piarsaigh won a third successive Limerick Premier U-21 hurling championship title this Saturday afternoon with an emphatic 2-22 to 1-14 win over Patrickswell in Bruff.
The Well were 0-10 to 0-8 in front at half time after an entertaining first half.
But the city men, whow ere minor champions three years ago, turned on the style to complete their three in a row in the second half.
The 11 point win moves Na Piarsaigh onto nine in the roll of honour.
They hit 1-5 in the opening nine minutes of the second half to turn the game on it’s head with Thomas Grimes getting the goal.
There were two frees from Jack Kelleher in reply but the Caherdavin men were now well on top and playing superb hurling.
They went on to hit 2-14 in the second half with David Dempsey getting the second goal in the final minute.
They had 10 different scorers from play while Patrickswell were over reliant on the frees of Jack Kelleher.
Indeed Na Piarsaigh only recorded three scores from frees, meaning they hit 2-19 from open play compared to the 1-5 from play for Patrickswell.
