Monaleen got their first win of the Limerick SFC on Wednesday night when they were 0-15 to 2-4 winners over Pallasgreen.

Having lost to Drom-Broadford and Ballylanders in their opening two games, Monaleen needed to win to stay in contention for a place in the knockout stages. But the result was never in doubt here. Ger Collins helped himself to eight points (five frees) and they were 0-10 to 1-0 up at the break, Pallasgreen’s goal coming from Ryan Deere.

Monaleen moved ten points clear in the second half with Pallasgreen’s second goal - a Seamus Mulcahy penalty - only serving as consolation late on.

The two teams are back in action at the weekend in Round 4 of the championship. Monaleen take on St Patrick’s in Claughaun on Saturday while Pallasgreen play Ballylanders in Bruff on Sunday. All those games are at 6.30pm.
