WINGER Ronan O’Mahony is rewarded for his hat-trick heroics against London Irish by getting the nod to start Munster’s RaboDirect PRO12 opener against Edinburgh at Musgrave Park this Saturday night (7.15pm).
Garryowen clubman O’Mahony will start on the right wing against the Scottish side, a week after bagging a hat-trick of tries against the Exiles. Coach Rob Penney has handed a debut to loosehead prop James Cronin. Stephen Archer fills the tight-head position following the injury picked up by BJ Botha in last weekend’s win over London Irish.
James Cronin, who was promoted from the academy to a development contract this summer, has two Munster caps to his name after coming on against Leinster and Zebre in the latter stages of last season. Mike Sherry will start at hooker.
James Coughlan captains the squad which includes returning internationals Dave Kilcoyne and Tommy O’Donnell, both named in the replacements.
