THIS week’s club hurling championship games are to go ahead as scheduled, despite All Ireland Qualifier action for the county football and hurling teams over the next two weekends.

This Monday morning it was confirmed that the club games will go ahead, although Limerick hurling manager TJ Ryan had hinted on Sunday that he may want the games postponed due to his team’s journey through the backdoor on July 4/5 after the heavy loss to Tipperary.

It means that there is a rapid turn around for the Limerick senior and intermediate hurlers with club games scheduled from Wednesday through to Sunday.

There is one senior game postponed and that’s the meeting of Doon and Croom, because Stephen Lucey is part of the Limerick senior football panel for Sunday’s All Ireland SFC Qualifier against Tyrone.

There are a busy few weeks ahead for Limerick GAA.

The senior footballers play Tyrone next Sunday, July 28 in Omagh at 4.00 and then the senior hurlers play Westmeath in Mullingar on July 4/5 in their All Ireland Qualifier.

On Thursday July 2 at 7.30 the Leo O’Connor managed Limerick minor hurlers will play Cork in their Munster semi final.

On Thursday July 16 the John Kiely led Limerick U-21 hurlers play Tipperary in the Gaelic Grounds in their semi final.
