KILMALLOCK booked their place in the All Ireland Club SHC final thanks to an easy 2-19 to 0-12 win over Portaferry in Cusack Park in Mullingar on Saturday.
They will now play Kilkenny’s Ballyhale Shamrocks in the final on St Patrick’s day.
An early goal from Paddy O’Loughlin set the Limerick champions on their way and with Eoin Ryan and Bryan O’Sullivan in top scoring form in the opening half, Kilmallock led 1-8 to 0-6 at the break.
Despite being against a slight breeze in the second half, Kilmallock took complete control. Paudie O’Brien got the scoring underway and again the accuracy of Eoin Ryan allowed them to pull clear before Graeme Mulcahy’s goal with ten minutes remaining eventually put the game beyond doubt.
