THE Gaelic Grounds hosts another all-Limerick Harty Cup derby this Tuesday (1.30) when Castletroy College play Doon’s Scoil na Troinoide Naofa.

Last week Ardscoil Ris beat West Limerick Colleges to put one foot in the quarter-finals of the Munster Post Primary Schools senior A hurling championship.

Likewise, the winner of this Tuesday’s derby will be in pole position to advance to the knockout stages ahead of the final round of action.

When the sides met in the group stages last year it was eventual finalists Doon who were 3-12 to 1-14 winners.

This time round Castletroy are favourites to advance and bring a 100% record into the contest with wins over

The city side have beaten Cork’s Gaelcolaiste Mhuire AG and De La Salle of Waterford while Doon also beat the Waterford side but lost in round one to St Colmans College Fermoy.

Last season’s beaten finalists Doon will look to Pallasgreen’s Colin Ryan, Cappamore’s Joe Lonergan and Doon trio Shane O’Connell, Barry Murphy and Jack Cummins.

Castletroy will have key men in Monaleen duo Andrew La Touche Cosgrave and Lorcan Lyons as well as Barry Nash of South Liberties.

In the final round Castletroy play St Colmans while Doon face Gaelcolaiste Mhuire.
