THE Limerick footballers fell to a 1-14 to 1-2 loss to Tipperary in Round 2 of the Allianz Football League Division 3 on Sunday afternoon.

In a thick fog in an almost-empty Semple Stadium, Limerick enjoyed plenty of possession but they wasted an amount of scoring chances and Tipp were far more ruthless in front of goals to take a 0-8 to 0-0 lead into the break.

Iain Corbett finally got Limerick off the mark early in the second half and a Seanie Buckley penalty gave John Brudair’s side a glimmer of hope.

But Tipp responded immediately and Ian Fahy’s goal helped ease Tipp towards the finish line.

Limerick now have a three-week break before they play Armagh, at home, on Sunday, March 1.
